If there's anything that stood out for me during my reflection over this season, Gratitude takes the lead, and I think you might want to pay more attention to it, going forward.
After so many years of being a victim myself, I think the opposite of Gratitude is Self-Pity. Do you not consider it paradoxical to see how we often mention gratitude but practise it less, whereas seldomly mention self-pity but its effect speaks louder than the beating heart within.
You might not be a victim on a large scale, but when the conclave of "Selfs" (self-pity, self-doubt ...) breezes your way by night and you start to see yourself as not good enough, not placed where you ought to be, you start to see every good thing that happens to your mates except you and so on...
Get this straight & quick pal, this isn't some philosophical play of words. Doesn't it interest you to know that there are currently 7.2 billion people on the face of the earth, nonetheless there is a "Secret Sauce" if you will, that's given to you alone by God, your fingerprint being the least? So,
Regardless of all the dark odds stacked against your favour
Regardless of the losses and deep pain, you'd have to bear at some point
There's One who first & has always believed in you, went further to clear your path with His own life, then shot you into existence via the womb of your mother and even thought it important to have you remain, hence the reason you're alive.
If only you're able to see this, acknowledging the good, bad and ugly, knowing fully well that the one who made you has mind-blowing plans for you and your life is on purpose.
Rather than getting all soaked up in Self-Pity due to unwanted circumstances here and there, I'd rather you take the path of Gratitude for all you've got and what the future holds because Another has done the hard work on your behalf, believe it.
Jesus died, was buried and He's risen. It's not a fiery tale.
Happy Easter.
See you on the next one 👋
