Intro

Happy New Year, Co Craftsman!

Hope you had an awesome weekend celebrating with those closest to you.
I've taken some needful time off myself over the past few months, and it's been awesome.

Let’s get the ball rolling!

This week edition in summary:

  • 🌟 A Quote from Walter Isaacson (former CEO of CNN)

  • 🪔 Competition is for losers

  • ❤ Favorite Things

Quote for the week

Smart people are a dime a dozen and often don’t amount to much, what counts is being creative & imaginative. That is what makes a true innovator - by Walter Isaacson (in Invent & Wander)

Competition is for Losers

  • Time after time, I've plunged myself into the ocean of continuous study of the lives of iconic individuals throughout the passage of time, the likes of John D. Rockefeller (the man who single handedly built an Oil Empire Standard Oil from nothing), Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, etc.. hoping to fetch out a singular trait that made them the world’s finest craftsmen in their era, with each of their pieces outlasting many generations without an apology. After I’d undergone this study, what you're about to read is the conclusive letter I wrote in my Journal:

It is true, every man possesses a North Start, or you might call it an Unfair Advantage, that unique substance that exponentially places him naturally ahead of his contemporaries, with an order of magnitude, yes literally. it usually does not look like it until it is discovered & dressed & mastered for a period of time, failure to do so is to never see potentials, or render it worthless as to any natural resource that remains buried under the earth. Therefore, I believe there is no basis for comparing oneself to another, let alone setting oneself on a competitive track with a fellow being. This only happens when one has refused to discover & gain mastery of one’s own differential factor, responsible for setting one apart in a pursuit of a worthy & noble course.

  • Do not fall victim, find your unique advantage, set yourself on a noble course, run your race with blinder mask on to deflect naysayers & with absolute excellence in view, such as can be reckoned with.

    Competition is for Losers.

  • 📚 Book: Relentless, From Good to Great to Unstoppable by Tim Groover: The author of this book coached the all time legends in basketball, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Russell Wilson etc. So he shares his winning mindset in this book & how it applies to our daily lives. It’s a must read to fuel your daily productivity.

Here's to making 2024 your best year yet 🍻.

Let’s make it count!

Thank you this very amazing write up and for giving us the privilege to peep into your journal🤭. Competition is truly for losers. Thank you for reminding us that we all have that one thing that sets us apart and we must discover, dress and master it👌
